It is time for the Knitting olympics -- again

I decided it was time to resurrect my blog, so during the opening ceremonies tonight I am casting on Di Gilpin's Winter Star Jacket from Interweave knits winter 2005 issue. I started this once before and frogged it, but the reasons for doing that are eluding me, so I am trying it again.

As a sub-note, my computer died on Wednesday and after nearly 3 days of talking to people on other continents than the one I am located on, I finally got help. I do have to say that I became the help line customer from hell but in the end I was right and it was that one of my hard drives had bitten the big bullet in the sky and a technician is coming on either Monday or Tuesday to replace it. At the risk of being boring, I have a dual harddrive automatically backed up system. (My son does not want to hear me cry.) and only one of them died. However, Dell, having listened to how badly they messed up my initial call, is living in dread that the technician might foul up my functional drive.

I assured them that they need not worry. If he did he would not leave my apartment alive, so there would be no more calls from me.

Romeo admires Senna's new knitted sweater

(From a safe distance). Notice his new flattened fed-ex box halfway down the hall. He has been moving it around looking for the perfect place for it. It started in the living room

No pics

just a quick note. Gill and Mark are here and she is doing a fantastic job of looking at the city with new eyes. However, I HAVE designated December 1st as "get a grip" day and will be returning then or the next day, once I have collapsed in a heap for a little while. These two could walk your feet off!!!

Some of us got a present...

This box arrived the other day, it didn't get here looking like this, it looked like a perfectly good box with nice neat sides and corners.
The Princess Clementine loved the new shape, it was a comfy seat. However she found it already shaped to fit someone else when she sat down on it.
Are you accusing ME????????
Can I help it if my butt just happens to fit perfectly in the small indentation I have "discovered" in this lovely box?

Pears and my kitchen window

I have a continuing fascination with pears. I want to draw them, I make prints of them, I shoot photos of them whenever I find them. I do not, however, like eating them very much. Maybe I am just buying the wrong kinds or buying them for the wrong reason. I think I am buying them for their looks.

There is probably a message for living there somewhere.
